Strawberries and Raspberries!!At a half acre, our berry patch is too big to eat all in the field. However, my kids give it their best shot. We offer them to our CSA customers and process the remainder for our own use.I dream of blueberries, but here in the northern plains our soil is alkaline. On the plus side, we have no idea what "liming" is. On the other hand, blueberries struggle even with amendments. There is a SK cultivar that is showing promise...
My favorite berry is the one that is ripe and ready! I haven't found one I don't like.
Mmm we have an abundance of wild strawberries here. We eat them straight from the plant. The huge burst of flavor from such a little berry is such bliss.
Hmm... I could no sooner name a favorite berry than pick a favorite book. I love cherries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries...Is it any wonder that my nickname was always sheriberry? :o) Love the pictures!
